Social Determinants of Health: the International Agenda

Global Health Promotion, with support from the Department of Health of England, has published a Supplement edition with the speeches made at the London Conference Closing the Gap in a Generation: Health Equity through Action on the Social Determinants of Health. This is the first major international event to focus on the recommendations made in the WHO Commission on Social Determinants of Health Report. The Supplement’s content is a substantial contribution to accelerate the momentum of the international community’s commitment to prioritise inequalities on the global agenda.

Social Determinants of Health: the IUHPE’s Agenda

The IUHPE is committed to ensuring that action on the social determinants of health (SDH) is underpinned by health promotion principles and strategies. The IUHPE’s approach to address the SDH and reduce inequalities cuts across all of our areas of work. Moreover, with SDH’s growing relevance on the global stage, the IUHPE is engaged in collaborative initiatives and partnerships that specifically focus on capacity building and leveraging evidence of for action to support SDH work as an organisation and in different parts of the world.
