Upon celebration of IUHPE’s 70th Anniversary, we would like to announce the launching of the IUHPE/ISECN Mentoring Program, which is briefly described below.


The intent is to provide networking and professional growth opportunity, and sharing of knowledge, in a way that is tailored to career development interests and areas of expertise in our health promotion community.


Who are we looking for?


  • Experienced professionals who are willing to share their experience and wisdom and coach younger colleagues


  • Students and young professionals <40 years


How does it work?

Mentees apply and will then be matched with mentors based on interest and a first come-first serve basis by the relevant Membership Sub-Committee

  • Online monitoring sessions via Skype, Zoom or some other video-conferencing platform
  • Estimated 1 to 2 hours per month, specifics to be determined between mentor & mentee.
  • Six to nine-month pilot program
  • Mid-term and end of term evaluation


Potential areas for discussion between mentor and mentee could be, but are not limited to:

  • How to sell yourself in a job interview
  • Effective networking tips
  • Designing a small evaluation project
  • Building subject matter expertise
  • What to look for in a graduate program
  • How to position or a specific career path
  • Problem-solving advice, etc.


How do you apply?   

Mentee Form -If interested, please fill out an application form explaining your professional goals, what you hope to get out of the program and summarize your academic and professional path to date.

Mentor Form - If interested, please complete the attached form, stating your area(s) of expertise and the number of mentees you are willing to accept.
