IUHPE Events
IUHPE Conferences are renowned events bringing together leading professionals in all corners of the world to take stock of the present state of knowledge and experiences, bring forward future challenges and shape the agenda to advance developments in health promotion.
The IUHPE organises triennial World Conferences, Regional Conferences and co-sponsors conferences, workshops or meetings. Conferences further the core business of IUHPE in developing and disseminating evidence and learning to advance the field of health promotion and in keeping health promotion on the policy agenda. In addition, the conference generates new members and revenue for the IUHPE.

Addressing imbalances : Promoting Equity in Mental Health

Mental health is a critical issue for governments, communities, and individuals around the world. This conference will address the pervasive and enduring inequalities that affect the mental health of millions of people, in both rich and poor countries.
The conference focuses on five public health strategies to address imbalances and promote equity in mental health within five thematic areas:

19th International Conference on Health Promoting Hospitals and Health Services

The international WHO Network of Health Promoting Hospitals and Health Services (HPH) was initiated by WHO-Euro in 1990. HPH promotes health promotion in and by hospitals as a strategy to improve the health gain of patients and relatives, staff, community and bystanders. HPH combines a vision, a concept, a set of 18 core strategies and five standards that can be linked with the organization’s quality management.

Le premier colloque des PLRS en 2001 militait déjà pour un changement de paradigme dans le champ de la santé en incorporant les communautés, les populations et leurs élus comme des artisans clés du renouveau des systèmes et des pratiques de santé. Vingt-cinq ans après la charte d’Ottawa, l’effort à fournir pour réaliser ce changement de paradigme demeure toujours important.
Les réformes des systèmes de santé de nombreux pays tentent de rapprocher de la population les services de santé afin de mieux répondre à ses besoins et de réduire les inégalités sociales de santé. Elles visent ainsi à conjuguer l’action sanitaire et sociale et plus largement à organiser l’ensemble des politiques publiques qui influencent les déterminants de la santé.
Ce changement ne pourra se réaliser sans que l’ensemble des partenaires essentiels n’en deviennent les artisans : populations, associations, professionnels de santé, décideurs des secteurs public et privé.
